Practical Ideas for Writing on Christmas Cards

For some people, writing on Christmas cards doesn't come natural. That's fine - we're not all perfect. Good thing is that I'm sharing some of my ideas with you!

So, this is how is see the whole "writing things on Christmas cards":
First, you have to define how much work you want to put into this and so we have 2 main categories:
- General and standard quotes for Christmas Cards ~ less time consuming, less impressive for the receiver.
- Your personal ideas developed and adapted for the person to whom you wish to give that Christmas Card ~ more time consuming, much more impressive for the receiver.

Standard wishes to be written on a Christmas Card:

  • May all of your wishes and dreams come true on this special Christmas Holiday. Wish you only the best! Be thankful for what you have, and may the Lord bless you!
  • As Christmas is here, I wish you on this special day to be happy & fulfilled! Sending good thoughts your way!
  • Only the best wishes to you and your family, during this wonderful holiday season!
  • I wish you the most magical Christmas ever! Be happy on this lovely holiday season, and may all these blessings stay with you throughout the coming year.
  • Wishing you and your family a warming Christmas, filled with joy, peace, love and hope.
  • Merry Christmas with lots of joy and love from your friend, YOUR NAME HERE.
  • They say Christmas is a special holiday, well, it might be, but not without you! I wish you to be happy, to cherish what you have, to be loved, to know joy, to enjoy even the smallest moments - may all of these stay with you throughout the coming year.

Now, here comes the part with more input from your side, and less from mine.
A few tips on how to develop your ideas and finally have a Christmas Card well written:

- to whom you are addressing your future wishes?
- what gender is that person?
- what age it has?
- what do you really wish to that person?
- you can mention something that happened in the past together with that person
- be honest but not stupid! (This might be a tough one!)
- think what wishes you would like to receive on a Christmas Card if the roles were inverted?

- you can also joke (ex. When i first met you, i thought you'd be the Grinch, but now that I know you, I feel like I'm the Grinch. ~PS: Don't judge my jokes, in my head they always seem funny!)
